To Be Or Not To Be?

Indie, individual, independent, different, original.

Since the beginning of human existence man has attempted to rebel against the norm. Fashion throughout the centuries has not only expressed this part of human nature, but it has also given individuality feed to be more then just a fashion trend but a lifestyle.
If we look to the 1920’s or what was referred to as the roaring twenties, we are both dazed and excited by the ‘flapper’ trend that rebelled against the period prior. Though the flapper girls were a minority of the time, the ‘new breed’ of young western woman aloud room for individuality. However this trend was more then just beads and straight and loose waistlines. in addition to their iconic style, flappers were also infamous for their irreverent behavior, love for parties and rebellious nature. The flapper is a classic example of fashion being more then just the clothes on your back, but the lifestyle you choose to live. Individuality is marked by more then just how you look in the face of society, its about how you choose to behave, walk, talk, the music you listen to and even the places you choose to hang out.
To be, or not to be? asks the question’s, do I allow my clothing to become the person I am? and do I choose to live a lifestyle reflective in the cloth that drapes over me?
